New Era of Broncos Football?
The Broncos seem to be ushering in a new era of with Bo Nix being named the starting quarterback. Last season with the Oregon Ducks, he threw for 4,145 yards, 40 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also rushed 53 timeless for 223 yards and six touchdowns. Nix looked impressive during the preseason and there is quite the buzz around what he’s going to be able to accomplish this season, and during his career. Nix has some solid weapons outside, including Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr. Javonte Williams, who is also back in his third year, and most are excited about him having a breakout year.
On defense is where this team has a whole lot of questions. The defense was filled with inconsistency last year, and the hope is this season they will be a little more consistent. On paper the front seven looks like a weakness and there has to be a major concern about them struggling again. The secondary is led by Patrick Suttan II and looks to be the strength of the defense.
Can Seahawks Make the Playoffs
On paper the Seahawks seem pretty middle of the road and this is a game that is key, even though it’s early in the season. Quarterback Geno Smith wasn’t as strong last year, but hopes that he can take a step forward. Smith didn’t have a whole lot of protection in 2023 and that didn’t help matters much. The Seahawks tried to improve the offensive line in the in the draft including selecting UConn guard Christian Haynes in the third round. Smith still has all kinds of weapons out wide including DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
On defense the Seahawks were good last year and on paper they should be even better this season. Leonard Williams agreed to an extension this offseason and also brought in Jonathan Hankins during free agency. In this game they are facing a young quarterback and they need to put the pressure on him. If they can get in his head early, they could create some turnovers.

Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos Prediction
If this was even a few weeks into the season and the line was six, I would probably take the points with the Broncos, but that isn’t the case. Bo Nix is going to start his first game of the season in a very hostile environment and it’s not going to go well for him. The Seahawks are going to torch the Broncos defense, and this game is going to get ugly. Don’t be shocked if the Seahawks end up getting a defensive touchdowns. Seahawks win this game by at least ten. Back the Seahawks against the spread.
